Unusual Desires

Today was Noah's 4th birthday! Like most 4-year-old boys, he loves being outside and has always enjoyed anything that involves a ball....however, when he started talking of his birthday - 6 or so months ago - he started telling us of things that he wanted for his birthday, and I started keeping track of these unusual desires. You might find it strange that several of these items are bathroom related. I think this comes from the many restrooms we visit together as we end the potty-training challenges of a boy! Enjoy - feel free to laugh - I do every time I read this list...
  • Automatic deposit tube/machine at the bank
  • Electric paper towel dispenser
  • Automatic soap dispenser (as in JCPenneys)
  • Handle of restroom door (as in La Fiesta)
  • Golf cart
  • Ukulele
  • Bubblegum machine
  • Bridge over a river - to ride his bike on
I will update the blog after Sunday with party happenings.

Soccer & Swim

Spring brings the opportunity to play soccer and summer brings swimming...our girls are ready. Katina gets to play soccer on a team from Onaga...they call it "herd ball." No organization or positions - just run in a herd and have fun kicking the ball in the right direction. She is equipped and has been practicing...we are praying for warm weather real soon. And, sales at SAM's helped us get matching swim suits for the girls ...they had to try them on when we got home. Again - we are praying for warm weather real soon.

SKELETONS

Look Into Your Body
- an excellent book and floor puzzle. Each piece has the name on the back. Our kids have a ton of fun with it - highly recommended. Authors are Kerry Bozza and Miki Sakamoto.

Spring Break Happenings!

It is already Friday of Spring Break - not fair! But, we have accomplished a lot...
  • Alex and Stan rewired an outlet so we could have a microwave/convection oven above our stove. I have already made cookies ...will need to read up a bit more to be successful at anything more complicated.
  • Cleaned the main floor - our bedroom upstairs and the cluttered basement need some organization before cleaning is a possibility.
  • Alex has managed to get a bug problem under control in the greenhouse at school.
  • I have filled out and mailed all the necessary documents to renew my teaching license.
  • Taxes are done - and refund is on its way!
  • The kids have played together well, with the occaisional "I'm bored"....I can't wait for it to be warm enough to be outside all day!
  • And by the end of the week, we will have rock on our driveway - much needed after the forecasted rain and snow tomorrow and Sunday.
  • Finally, we are presently at the farm in Goessel - Enjoying Grandpa and Grandma, sister and brother-in-law and cousin time!
