Weekend Project #2

Having the snowdays that we have had lately means that we have time to organize and clean "spots" around the house that are needy! One of these spots in our house is the back door and shoe organization or should I say un-organization. Anyway, we seem to lack good storage in this little house. And, my husband seems to love doing little projects when it involves his Dad and a shop. So, I benefit - the whole family benefits. Here is his latest weekend project. Thanks Alex!

Snow Angel

Coming home from Christmas break on Sunday, we found snow - and lots of it! The last time this happened - snow that is...some kind stranger came with their tractor, blade and scoop and cleared a path through to our vehicles so we could get out. So, this time we returned home, and found drifts in our driveway again....too deep to plough through with anything that we own - the van, car or pick-up. Once again, our snow angel (tractor, plough and scoop) came to our rescue. Only this time we were home and determined to find out who it was. Turns out, our angel is our mailman. He says it is one of the perks for living on his route. Thank you, Mr. Gilsdorf. You are very appreciated!

Weekend project

Stan, Alex and Larry Dean worked hard last Saturday and part of Sunday building a loft bed for Noah. The Unruhs built two for their girls which gave Alex inspiration to get busy working on one for Noah. So, what started by Stan getting the supplies - and one hard day of work - ended with a very excited boy with a new, fun bed. His Dad and Mom are equally excited to have more space in his already small room! Thanks Brandon and Kristi for the idea and plans, Stan and Larry Dean for the help and Alex for doing a project in a weekend! I am very impressed!!

SNOW Days!

Our first big snow of the year gave us 2 snow days and a late start Monday -Wednesday. These pictures were taken mid morning of a full day of snow - giving us about a foot of snow and wind the 2nd day. We still cannot drive through our driveway because of the drifts! It is sooo very beautiful though and it was finally warm enough today that the kids got to go out with Dad. I took the opportunity to mop the kitchen floor while he was playing with them.
